It’s just a fact: Victoria is the perfect place to get into the spirit of the holidays. It’s got everything: the charm of cobblestone streets and traditional Christmas celebrations combined with world-class shopping and dining options. Here are five Instagrammable holiday experiences that’ll turn your friends a Grinchy shade of green with envy!

1. The Magic of Christmas at The Butchart Gardens

Victoria's world-famous gardens only get more whimsical at Christmastime! From the beautifully-lit Sunken Gardens, to the quaint outdoor skating rink to the Rose Carousel, you'll find Christmas Card worthy photo ops at every turn!

2. Mall Photo Ops

Even if you aren't ready to meet Santa at the mall, Mayfair Shopping Centre and Uptown both have picture-perfect displays--and they're both in walking distance of Zed! After you've snapped your pics with Mayfair's stunning marquee displays and in front of Uptown's enchantingly enormous tree, drop off your bags and hop in our vintage shuttle! We'll give you a lift downtown where you can visit The Bay Centre to enjoy the Festival of Trees! Be sure to vote for your favourite tree to support BC Children's Hospital!

3. Gingerbread Showcase

This year, the Parkside Hotel & Spa is hosting the 9th annual Gingerbread Showcase in support of Habitat for Humanity, and you absolutely cannot miss it! Ooh and aah your way through the displays--dozens of creative chefs have painstakingly put together their edible works of arts. You'll be inspired to whip up your own gingerbread masterpiece! A gingerbread Zedstream, anyone?

4. Downtown Victoria

Wander from boutique to boutique on our cobblestone streets, or better yet, take a free horse-drawn Christmas trolley around downtown! Visit the Royal BC Museum to see Old Town all decked out for the holidays, and stay downtown after dark so you can see the lights on our Legislature and around the Inner Harbour shining bright! We won't be held responsible if you break out into a holly jolly Christmas tune!
