You’re safe at Hotel Zed Learn More
Sure, it’s no New Year’s Eve or St Paddy’s day, but here at Hotel Zed we think every holiday can be an excuse for having a good time. Heck, we think Wednesday is a great reason to celebrate. So there’s no reason your Easter long weekend needs to be anything less than exceptional. There are so many cool bars and pubs in Victoria, why not use Easter as the perfect excuse to get away and do your best Easter bunny bar hop?
Whether you book the Rad Pad Apartment, King for a Night or the Sweet Suite, you’ll find a cool-yet-cozy home at Hotel Zed Victoria. Start the Easter festivities early in the hotel’s groovy pool, where the hot pink, 3-story Zedinator waterslide will definitely put a spring in your step!
The hotel’s free shuttles zip regularly to downtown Victoria. Hop aboard one of these vintage gems (their names are Doris, Bubba and Scooby) and roll into town in style. Once there, visit Garrick’s Head Pub in historic Bastion Square. Garrick’s is one of Canada’s oldest pubs and since it’s a local favourite for all ages, it’s a people-watching dream. Take your pick from their impressive draught list and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere.
Speaking of beer, you might want to pop in next door to their sister bar, the Churchill. An ever-rotating draught list of 50 brews is listed above the bar. There’s plenty of local breweries in the mix, as well as a few oddball beers you’ve never heard of.
You may want to take a break from hoppy hour(s) to wander the cobblestone streets of Victoria. Head down Government street toward the Inner Harbour and give yourself lots of time to pop in and out of the quaint shops along the way. If you’re into ice cream (and who isn’t?), we recommend grabbing a soft-serve creation at Quebec-based chocolatier’s only western Canadian shop: Chocolats Favoris for your stroll.
Ok, now that you’ve seen a bit of Victoria it’s time to get back to the bar hop at hand. Next up is Little Jumbo. It’s known as a fabulous cocktail bar, but their curated selection of craft beer will not disappoint. Peruse their impressively large drink menu and have a delicious dinner while you’re at it.
After dinner walk down to Pandora Street where you’ll find The Drake perched outside Market Square. Relax in vintage armchairs while you work your way through their list of unique beers and ciders on tap. If you’re not done yet, you can continue to celebrate at a nearby brewpub: find a quiet corner in Swans to taste one of their award-winning beers or try to catch some live music and delicious local brews at Canoe down the road!
When you’re ready to come home to Zed, you’ll be a sleepy bunny! Maybe you should request a late checkout (which are always free!) and plan a recovery-brunch at The Ruby...
Hoppy Easter!
