Zedinator waterslide
Take a rip down Hotel Zed Victoria’s own Zedinator water slide, open year round in our pool area. Hop into the tunnel and, after a few twists and turns, you’ll be shot out onto a hot pink landing tray! Fun for rebels of all ages!
Relax In The Sunken Living Room
Kick back in our Sunken Living Room with teardrop fireplaces, comfy couches, and good company. Sip on a beverage from ROAR or ROAR Coffee & Shop, and relax!
All ages Rebel Playground
Hotel Zed is all about having fun, and we think rebels of all ages should have a chance on the playground! We’ve got a play ship and marine-themed spring riders for your little sailors, but we recommend adults take ‘em for a spin, too! Or, play a few rounds of shuffleboard or tetherball (remember that?) or bocci if you’re feeling more competitive! If you just need to chill, relax in our comfy deck seating complete with cozy firepits!
Custom-made driftwood VW bus
You read that right. We have a totally interactive replica of a vintage VW bus at our Tofino hotel! When we say “totally interactive,” we mean totally interactive. Everything from the pedals to the door handles to the dash was crafted by local artist Alex Witcombe of Drifted Creations to be super realistic. Have you ever wondered what a to-scale engine would look like if it were made out of driftwood? No?! Well maybe you’re curious now that we mention it…so you should come check it out! This is one of our most popular photo ops for children, pets, families and full-grown adults.
Rainforest hot tub and barrel sauna
Nestled between the rainforest trees, this massive hot tub fits up to 15 people! When you’re done soaking, step inside the barrel sauna and gaze out the bubble glass window at the peaceful rainforest beyond.
ROAR Live Fire Restaurant and Bar
It’s the waves crashing and raging flames. It’s the roar of a rebellious nature. Escape to Hotel Zed’s very own ROAR, where we cook with live fire and quality, local ingredients are at the center of everything we do.
The Lobby
More than a place to pass through, each Hotel Zed lobby is designed for you to hang out in. You’ll find tons of unordinary treasures including board games, retro knick knacks, typewriters, the Zed Official Store, and more. You’ll feel like you’ve gone back in time, but got to bring all of your modern comforts with you!
Bike-friendly facilities
All of our locations are totally bike friendly. We’ve got lots of bike storage around the hotel, but you’re also welcome to bring your bike right into your room with you if that’ll help you sleep easier. Ask us about the best bike paths and routes nearby–our rebels have you covered!
Funky surfboard outdoor showers
Rinse off after a day on the beach or the water with our outdoor warm water surfboard showers. These things are a sight to behold—hopefully you’ve got a waterproof camera on hand!
Pool, Hot Tub and Sauna
Open year-round, at Victoria you can unwind with a soak in the hot tub, sweat it out in the sauna* or enjoy a splash around the pool—think of it as a choose-your-own-adventure, pool style. Open from 9am to 10pm.
Hotel Zed Colouring Sheets
We’ve taken the designs from our new staff uniform t-shirts into funky, downloadable colouring sheets. Print off and enjoy!
Mini Disco
When you stay at Hotel Zed Tofino, every day’s a dance party. Our mini disco has all the tricks: a glittery sequin wall, a whole bunch of dreamy, mirrored disco balls, wicked lighting and a light-up dance floor that just begs you to boogie. Use our tunes or play DJ yourself!
Grandma’s Basement
Have some time to kill? Head downstairs and hang out in Grandma’s Basement. This groovy lounge feels like it was plucked right out of the 70’s, and is inspired by our CEO Mandy Farmer’s Grandma’s basement in real life. Complete with a pool table, TVs, comfy retro seating and a bar (refreshments not included 😉), Grandma’s Basement is the perfect place to relax, take a zoom call or let the kids play!
Psychic’s Den
Given that retro is kind of our whole thing, we get that you probably think we’re obsessed with the past. But what if we told you our Tofino hotel offers you a chance to see the future? That’s right—the psychic’s den in our Tofino lobby is decked out with a crystal ball, Tarot cards, a mystical, starry ceiling and other mystical treasures. If you’re lucky, we might just have a legit psychic on-site during your visit.
The Backyard
Your home away from home should have a backyard away from backyard! We’ve got just the place behind Hotel Zed Victoria, perfect for morning yoga, some afternoon lawn games, or a couple of cold ones by our fire pit!
The Ruby
Breakfast? Lunch? Brunch? Whatever you call that morning meal, you can have your fill at The Ruby, our on-site diner.
The Ping Pong Lounge
The Ping Pong lounge at our Kelowna hotel offers you everything you need to start playing: throwback video games, more board games that you’ll know what to do with, comfy reading nooks and of course, ping pong tables. Game on, Rebels!
The World’s First Bike Through Lobby
Want to cruise Tofino on two wheels? Bike through the lobby on a bike path that goes right through the lobby. Need a bike? Visit Swell Tofino right outside our lobby!
Work or play in the Four Suits Entertainment Room
We have a custom game table with free cards and gaming chips. Go fish anyone? Not a gamer? Work in style and use this as your private office! Did we mention free wi-fi?
Stillwater Nature Spa
From April 2nd to October, enjoy a relaxing holistic massage at our on-site spa, nestled in the bird sanctuary just steps outside the hotel. Check out Stillwater’s Website!
Rooftop patios
Enjoy the sunshine up in the sky with our Kelowna hotel’s three rooftop patios, with firepits, awesome views, and a really funky BBQ grill and chill station. Our rooftop patios are officially open for the season!
Hidden 80s arcade
Our Tofino hotel has an extra special hidden gem—no, really. It’s actually a secret arcade room! You can ask, but we won’t tell you where it is. The hunt is part of the fun. When you do find it (we believe in you), you’ll be treated to all the old school arcade games you know and love—totally free.
Coffee Lux
At Hotel Zed, we want your in-room coffee experience to feel like a little luxury. We’ve collaborated with a local potter Daniela Petosa to create custom ceramic mugs in all of our hotel rooms. No wasteful paper cups here! if you wanna take that luxury home, the mugs are available for purchase.

We take our retro aesthetic beyond the bright colours and funky fonts—it’s a whole vibe. Our lobbies are retro-chic sanctuaries, with lots of nooks and hideouts so you can set up your laptop or just hang out. Our guest rooms have legit rotary phones, retro alarm clocks, upcycled furniture and more! Every Hotel Zed is curated with so much detail you’ll feel like you’ve travelled back in time (no DeLorean necessary).
